Peoples Theater

The Peoples Theater in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, is a historic venue that has played a significant role in the community’s revitalization. Originally built in 1909, the theater was reconstructed in 1948 in a Streamline Moderne style. It operated as a movie theater until 1972, after which it was reopened as a live performance venue for country music and comedians in 1982. The theater has been a hub for entertainment, hosting events like the Big Creek Country Show, which has been running every Saturday night for over forty years.
